Cute Kids

Just wana share some pics taken recently at majlis cukur jambul for my colleague's daughter. Comel kanak2 disitu. Unexpectedly, dapat extra upah ambil gamba plak tu. Gamba biasa2 je pun..tapi, nak tenkiu jugaklah. Anyway, lessons learned from my first freelance photog experience are:

1) Always arrive to the event atleast half an hour early. To get to know the surroundings and people, i.e. family & close frens & spots, is essential part of taking pics in any event.

2) Stay alert, take initiative and be creative in getting the angle views. Always take positions earlier whenever your instinct tells you that there is going to be a moment to be captured. Aritu luper nak cuba amik top view dari tangga.

3) Stay informed with the agenda of the event. The agenda gives a holistic view in mind on what pics to be taken in an events that makes the photo album more meaningful and complete as if nothing is left missing.

4) Be open dan ringan mulut bertanya. Atleast orang2 kat majlis tu rasa tak segan sgt dan sedikit selesa dengan kehadiran photog yang nak amik gambo candid mereka.

5) Most importantly, know how to cope with your camera settings. As for mine, for indoor: with flash=TTL mode, ISO=200, Mode=Manual, Shutter=125, Aperture=Depends. For outdoor: no flash, ISO=200, Mode=Programmed (Shutter & Aperture adjusted accordingly). Sebenarnye, suke ati, no restrictions to whatever settings you have in your camera as long as the pics turned out gorgeous!

Adik yang comel and well behaved

The white shirt kid "Hey! I want that lolipop too! It looks so delicous and yummy!"

Belon Panas, Putrajaya pun Panas

Sabtu pagi, me Nurli Asma and KNazma, ke Putrajaya sempena ada Belon Panas di Putrajaya. The main agenda was to actually celebrate Nurli's belated birthday. Sambil2 praktis balik skill amik gamba yang dah lama ditinggalkan. After breakfast around 10am, we headed to Precint2, nearby the Goverment Office. Parking susah nak carik. Ramai manusia dan kete pun banyak. Ingatkan nak park kat tepi jambatan. Tapi bila nampak polis tgh letak tiket saman kat kete2 situ, terus tak jadik.

Me and Asma planned to give a ballon ride treat to Nurli as a gift for her birthday. But the tickets were already sold out. Kesian, takde rezeki la untuk Nurli aritu. Pic above, Nurli cekak pinggang and KNazma frust sebab tak dapat naik. I was a bit frustrated too, but can't really show it since I was the one taking this pic. Heee... Anyway, below pics are some of my faves.
Above, perhaps more ballons? more colours?
Pic of kids enjoying themselves cycling around the pavement area.

Dare to give urself a ride in a rolling ball?

Baju Merah di Malaysia

I walked into the office this morning when my officemates started teasing me, saying "You look so red today" "Merahnye mak ngah". I just smiled. I don't mind with whatever people say, as long as I feel comfortable in the clothes I wearing. Baju kurung moden yang agak tabaruj warnanya, tapi jenis cotton serap peluh dan selesa untuk bergerak cepat. Jokingly I replied to them that I was actually an undercover spy for the Red Shirt movement in Thailand. They laughed at my remark.

Come to think of it, I remember a holiday trip to Bangkok that me and my frens went last 2 years back. Alhamdullillah nothing bad had happened to us. It was an enjoyable trip indeed. Bangkok surely a place worth visiting. Apart from my legs cramped that I could barely walk after having foot massage. A massage is supposed to be soothing, isn't it? Dahlah backpack berat.

A month after our trip, the breaking news of Yellow Shirts (against Thaksin) picket in Bangkok caught my attention. The incident caused all the flights delayed which resulted lots of people stranded in the Bangkok's International Airport. And at that time, we were so glad that we were already back in Malaysia. And now, the Thailand's political crisis seems to be worsening. In revenge the Thaksin's supporters copied the Yellow Shirt tactics and took to the streets in red shirts. Terkejut jugak bila baca berita pasal guna darah sendiri, 300liter, untuk disimbah ke pagar rumah PM mereka. Ada bagusnya kalau derma ke hospital.

Deep in my heart, I am grateful that our country Malaysia, is a peaceful place to stay and people here live in harmony, despite of the cultural differences and minor political conflicts we might have here and there. Let's pray that this shall continue this way. Amin.

"If you don’t take your own dreams seriously, who will?"

Menarik kan quote ni? I found it in one of the American blogs, a recommended reading by a fren. (err..I guess the blogger is an American since his life revolves mainly around US) . The blog has lots of self-development postings in it, which covers life, career and travel. Not sure whether all the postings are applicable to us, as Malaysians in general and as muslims as a whole. Apa kata, buang yang tak relevan, ambil yang boleh digunapakai. Bak kata omputih, look on the bright side. Some of the postings are worth reading.

The most interesting article posted (the only thing that I've actually read) so far is WHY YOU SHOULD QUIT YOUR JOB AND TRAVEL AROUND THE WORLD. This, has never come across my mind before. I mean, the thoughts of "Should I quit my job?" always struck my head especially when I got better job offer elsewhere. And to "Travel around the world" is quite possible if I just go for holidays to a few different countries once or twice a year, or I can just get a job that requires me to travel abroad a lot. But to act on the combination of both? Pretty scary isn't it? We, the grown-ups, certainly have other commitments and obligations. So, ada berani mau cuba ka?

The reason my fren asked me to read the posting was to help me sorting out my indecisive thoughts. To go or not to go? Should I or shouldn't I? Well, enough said. Lapa ni. Jom dinner!

My very 1st week

This is my first week taking commuter to work. Yelah, dah phobia bawak kete terberenti tgh2 jem. So, just wanna share several useful tips from the commuter experts:

1) Never stares at other people. Either put a blank face as if u are enjoying sight-seeing of the outside view, or pretend sleeping or get a book to read. I prefer the latter one.

2) Wear sandals or flat shoes. U may need to run as quickly as possible to hop into the last minute train without tripping.

3) It is advisable to bring along umbrella these days. Unless u prefer to look macho or like to get wet in the rain. Bak kata pepatah melayu, sediakan payung sebelum hujan.

4) Be alert when u are nearby ur stop station. There are some of my frens aka the experts, experienced overslept and noticed they were passing unfamiliar stations and later called the boss saying that they would be late to the office, but rather not to mention why. Malu la tuh, hihi..

5) Be patient and considerate to others in need of the seats more than u do in the train especially the elderly, pregnant women etc. Sometimes the trains tend to arrive late too!

This pic, me reading a book while waiting for my train. Just finished reading two books this week!

Phobia

1st incident - TUDM
I prepared to go to work as usual that morning. Sharp at 6.45am, I headed straight to Seri Kembangan, the usual traffic hotspot. Got stuck there for a while. Then I passed Besraya toll straight to Tai Thong's school, another usual traffic hotspot. I estimated that I would spend around 20minutes there. Around that time, my car stopped all of a sudden every 5minutes. I was not sure why but I was quite panic when I could not start my car at all while cutting the left lane towards Jalan Istana, which is just infront the TUDM. I turned on the hazard lights at once. Some cars at the back were honking at me. Nak buat macammana. Bukan sengaja nak berenti pun. Fortunately, I was able to start the car again a few minutes after that. I was not confident that my car could go through another slow moving traffic. So I decided to stop by at the Jalan Istana-Jalan Sungai Besi junction's emergency lane, which is just below the fly over. I called my father and told him everything. My father was at kampung at that time so he gave me the number of the nearby workshop. The owner was Hisham. I waited for Hisham after I called him. Suddenly my phone rang, with my boss's number appeared on the screen.

"Apa ko buat kat emergency lane tu Zeta?"
"Saje lepak2 sambil hirup udara pagi yang segar" Haha ketawa dalam hati "Kete saya rosak la Kak Ana"
"Abis..macammana tu?"
"Saya dah call mekanik dah. Kak Ana kat mana tu?"
"Aku baru jek lepas tempat ko berenti tu, depan Istana"
"Ooo..ok..takperlah, saya tunggu jek la mekanik sampai. Apa2 hal kimsalam jek la diaorang kat opis tu kalau saya tak dapat datang keje ari ni"
"Ok"

Finally Hisham came over and sent me to the office. Later that afternoon, I was having a mere headache to know that the car needed for a top overhaul. Apakah itu top overhaul?!

2nd incident - Muzium Negara
After 3 weeks of top overhauling, same things happened to my car along the way around TUDM area. The temperature rose really quick. The car stopped at 60km/hr on the right lane aka speed lane, right after I passed the Istana. Great. Of all places, why must the speed lane? Then, I turned on the hazard lights, waited for a few minutes and try to start my car again. Alhamdullillah. The engine started and slowly I moved towards left to park my car at the small emergency lane, just before the Muzium. I waited in the car, hoping that it would cool down after another 15minutes. I really had to go to the office that day to ensure everything was ok with the Online Registration testing. Sikit lagi tu. Suddenly, a red Saga approached and parked just right behind my car. Kak Ana..you are really my saviour! I then paid RM2 for the Muzium Negara parking ticket, parked my car there and went away in the new red Saga to the office. Thanks to Kak Ana for being there for me and I am so sorry that you were late to the office because of me! ;)

Haiwan pun tahu sayangkan anak

Just want to post something related to morality and ignorance of our nowadays society in dealing with social problems like killing and throwing babies in the dumps, child abuse and many other more. AlFatihah for adik Syafiah who just tragically passed away recently. Apalah salah si kecil ini?
